GOAL USA would like to thank our guests and sponsors for making the 2013 GOAL USA Benefit Ball a wonderful occasion and a huge success. The Benefit Ball was held on Friday November 8th at Gotham Hall in New York City, with over 350 guests attending in support of GOAL’s humanitarian work across the globe. Over $200,000 was raised for GOAL programs, this included what was raised during a special appeal for our emergency relief efforts in Syria.
Our guest speaker, actor Jack Gleeson, who plays King Joffrey in HBO’s award winning series Game of Thrones, shared some of his experiences from his trip with GOAL to Haiti. As our wonderful and charismatic host for the evening, actress and model Vanessa Branch brought an extra air of glamor to the proceedings. GOAL CEO, Barry Andrews, delivered an inspiring keynote speech, describing some of his memorable moments since joining GOAL last January.
Barry was followed by auctioneer Patrick Meade, who encouraged guests to dig deep and bid high for some of the excellent items and experiences on offer. These included a unique Downton Abbey Experience in London, travelling with British Airways business flights; a luxury American Airlines 12-night vacation to Ireland; and a meet and greet with NY Yankees star Mariano Rivera. Guests were also invited to bid on silent auction items, which featured everything from special NYC experiences to designer fashion items.
After dinner, guests enjoyed a casino and live music from the Arthur Stuart band followed by an after-party at Lillie’s Bar on 49th Street.
