Over the past three decades, the GOAL Mile has grown to become one of Ireland’s most popular annual fundraisers and this year is no different with over 90 GOAL Miles to be held around the country.
The GOAL Mile is held in villages, towns and cities all over Ireland every Christmas holiday, and is one of the country’s biggest and longest-running annual fundraising events. The concept is simple: people run or walk a Mile and donate whatever they can afford to GOAL.
GOAL has begun delivering aid to families in northern Syria that have been driven from their homes by on-going conflict in the country.
We have begun delivering consignments of blankets and foodstuffs to displaced families in the Aleppo and Idlib provinces in northern Syria, where the onset of winter is making the plight of the displaced increasingly acute.

GOAL is responding to a refugee crisis in an area called Maban, in the country’s Upper Nile State. Over 110,000 people have fled to the region to escape conflict. They are in need of food, water, shelter, alongside healthcare and proper hygiene facilities.
