Tickets are now on sale for the 2014 GOAL Ball, taking place at the Jumeirah Carlton Hotel in Knightsbridge on Saturday, June 21.
We are delighted to announce that our special guests on the night will include celebrity chef, Rachel Allen. Rachel is visiting a project in India with GOAL in early June, and will undoubtedly have some insightful views on her trip to share with us on the evening.
Our premier fundraiser of the year will see 300 guests enjoy a drinks reception overlooking Cadogan Gardens from 7pm, followed by three-course meal, dancing to 10-piece showband, Casino, Live & Silent Auction and After-Party.
Individual tickets start at £150, while tables for 10 people start at £1500.
The inaugural GOAL Business Breakfast was held in London this week at the Rotunda Bar & Restaurant in Kings Place, London.
Supporters from the worlds of banking, finance, legal, construction, aviation and the hotel industry gathered to receive an update on our work in Syria, the Philippines and South Sudan from GOAL CEO, Barry Andrews.
Our thanks to John Nugent and the team at Green & Fortune for facilitating the event.
GOAL UK’s St Patrick’s Day was a great success
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the GOAL St Patrick’s Day Badges appeal.
Thousands of pounds were raised for our work in the developing world, and we also managed to share some St Patrick’s Day Cheer as a result of the initiative!
A special mention, in particular, to our friends in George Killoughery Ltd., who invited us to partner with them in the London St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
See more of Ollie, the GOAL-er bear, in action here.
If you would like to join in the fun and volunteer with GOAL for next St Patrick’s Day, please get in touch with Aura Rico at the London office on arico@goal.ie.
Thousands flee South Sudan, as famine looms
On this day 20 years ago, the world looked away as the genocide began in Rwanda.
As conflict in South Sudan pushes the country closer and closer to a major famine, we must ensure the international community does not make the same mistake today.
Click here to read how the crisis in South Sudan is sending 2,000 desperate refugees across the border into Ethiopia every day.
