Calling on schools to sign up for GOAL Sports Challenge
GOAL is calling on schools to sign up for the GOAL Sports Challenge, which will be taking place across the country during the months of May and June.
Schools are asked to either organise a Penalty Shoot-Out Competition or a Solo Run.
The Penalty Shoot-Out Competition is as straightforward as it sounds, while a Solo Run is simply a school-friendly version of the GOAL Mile, which thousands of people complete every year during the Christmas period. Just pick a venue, then run, walk or crawl a Mile!
GOAL, Concern, Oxfam and Trócaire will host a seminar to mark the 20th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide at the Royal Irish Academy this Thursday, April 10th.
The seminar, entitled Strengthening the Global Response to Humanitarian Crises, will take place from 1:30-6:00 pm. The opening address will be delivered by Mr Joe Costello, TD, Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
It will consider the lessons learned from the crisis in Rwanda and the challenges that remain in supporting people affected by complex humanitarian emergencies, such as those in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Syria.
